Welcome Aboard!
Call of the Sea is a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit with the mission of connecting people to the sea and maritime traditions. Our teaching platform is the lovely 82' schooner, SEAWARD. Our goal is to offer the benefits of connecting with the sea and sailing to all people, with a special focus on empowering youth of all backgrounds. Our programs range from three hours to two weeks long, primarily taking place on San Francisco Bay and during the winter ranging as far as Baja Mexico.Call of the Sea News

*WHERE IS SEAWARD NOW?*
Seaward is now even safer with AIS! AIS (Automatic Identification System) is intended to help vessels avoid collisions and help port authorities better control sea traffic. AIS transponders transmit a vessel's position, speed, course, and additional details by VHF and this data is made available to the pubic domain. Click here for the big picture. Please note: AIS information is usually received within a range of 15-40 nautical miles, depending on the height of the receiving station. If a map of the Mediterranean Sea is pictured above, it means Seaward is out of the range of the nearest receiving station. We're probably sailing to the Farallon Islands or some other destination beyond the Golden Gate. Check back again later to track the vessel's position!
