Wish List
Are you ready to pitch in to help? You bet we have a Wish List!
Life Vests – Sure, we have Coast Guard approved PFD’s for everyone aboard. But for school kids, the old horse-collar jackets can be uncomfortable to wear and cumbersome to remove when they go below (as required by the safety regs.) We’d like to substitute approved commercial-quality vests, but that means buying about 50 of them, to account for a varying mix of sizes. They’ll cost us $25 each. Would you donate all 50? How about a dozen?
Your Old Laptop – Really, even an older laptop PC will come in handy, because we can dedicate it to the on-board projection microscope. It doesn’t need to be super-fast, just have an external monitor connection (as most laptops do.) Of course a newer laptop would be useful as well!
New Jib – Most folks are happy to sail once a week. Seaward sails almost every day on
Materials for the Rowing/Sailing Tender – As you read in an earlier article, Call of the Sea needs to provide these materials to the Youth Boatbuilding program. Your donation towards lumber, paint and hardware will help make this graceful boat a reality.
Inflatable Boat – Even with our new traditional tender, Seaward will continue to carry a motorized inflatable boat to use as a safety boat, push boat, etc. But inflatables wear out, and ours did. If you have a lead on a new 10-foot inflatable, we’d sure appreciate it.
Our Last Wish (for now) – is for you to come sailing on Schooner Seaward. With your family on an Adventure Sail. With your youth group, your friends, your company. There are lots of possibilities ranging from a relaxed Friday evening to a week in Baja, and they’re all on www.callofthesea.org/. See you on board!
