Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Whatever the national economic picture may be, Call of the Sea’s supporters have pitched in to push our 2009 fundraising over the top. Donations small and large, from October through mid-February totaled over $34,000. Some substantial donations came from long-time observers who have watched Call of the Sea over the years and have become convinced that we truly deliver on our mission. Scholarships were recently donated by generous organizations such as the St. Francis Yacht Club Foundation, Sausalito Yacht Club Auxiliary, and Golden Gate Tall Ships Society, because Call of the Sea’s mission is theirs too. Equally important, more modest donations come from all parts of the community: teachers, youth leaders, Bar Pilots, people we do business with, friends.
Donations, public support, your support, are essential for Call of the Sea to fulfill our mission with the whole community, including urban schools and youth groups. This year some of those groups to benefit from scholarships include: Cypress School Special Education classes, Sea Scout Ship Viking of SF, Presidio YMCA, Scout groups,
We are grateful for your support to get groups like these out on the Bay, and we deeply appreciate the trust that it represents.
